There is nothing better in life than when one of your best friends moves back in town. We were roommates for almost 4 years. Today, we were laughing that she knows me so well that it's almost scary. My favorite songs, my favorite drink, my favorite TV show. We've shared a million stories, laughed so hard we couldn't breathe, hunted film locations, gone on vacations, watched the sunset a thousand times, had yelling matches and I wouldn't change one minute of it.
She was gone for an entire year. Who would have ever guessed that we would live near each other again! Now there is nothing better than having her come into the office during the day and making me laugh.

Doing what?
So glad you asked....
Barnes and Noble It's like an oasis in the desert of boredom. I LOVE it there. I can go in to look for one thing, look down at my watch and realize its been 2 hours. Really. Magazines, kids' section, biographys (ooo, that's a good one to get lost in!), crafts, fiction, journals, entertainment. Oh, how I love it. Thank goodness there is a library for free though or I would be in BIG trouble.
My desk at the office. Working like a mad person. Watching the trees get ready to bloom!!!
My couch at home with TV on. Battlestar Galactica. I'm tellin' you. Try it! You won't be sorry...that and BlowOut (the guy cries over hair product, come on! Who can't laugh at that!) marathons have been my "downtime" lately.
The old homestead. Dinner with the family. Good times.
The climbing wall. Working it. Not participating. It's really fun when the person I'm balaying is 3 times bigger than me and I fly up in the air when they fall off the wall.
There you go. That's my life in the last week in a quick nutshell. Multiply the "desk at the office" by about 60 hours and that's what I've been up to.

This week
Why does the spring turn into a race until death every year? I love the spring. The warm weather, trees bright green, flowers popping out of the ground. But I don't love how busy my life becomes. By the time I get home at night, I collapse. My brain is just tired.
So that is the reason I haven't posted in a couple days. I've been blog lurking instead of writing. My favorite bloggers have had much more exciting weeks than I have. I've been living vicariously through their adventures. The beauty of the online world....

DC on the first warm day of the year
This weekend my bro and I decided to take a trip to DC. There was a film festival to check out and the weather was supposed to be spectacular. Film festival was a bust. The "shorts" we saw made us realized that we could do oh, so much better ourselves. But the sky was in its bluest of blues and the monuments looked quite spectacular after a long winter. We didn't go in any, but "been there done that" before. Here are some favorite shots....
Steps to the Capitol
Cherry blossoms are starting to peak out.
In his "Jack Bauer" aviators, as I call them, enjoying the warm afternoon.

100th post
Wow. Can't believe that I've put that much useless information on the internet. But what fun it's been. I started this blog to post about my trip to Europe for my friends and family back home. It ended up being so much more fun than I expected. Kinda like a scrapbook of me for everyone to look at. To celebrate 100 posts of me (sometimes it's really fun to be totally self involved), here's my top 5 places to go or see.
1. Hawaii (most beautiful place I have every been. really must live there one day)
2. Prince Edward Island (quiet, quaint, brimming with magic)
3. Paris (because it's simply Paris)
4. Rhode River (it has the most beautiful sunsets in the world in my opinion)
5. Astoria, Oregon (the real-life Goonies town. It's the perfect small town America model)

yessss......
So thankful to be back "online!" I've so missed my daily internet fix. Never realized how much of an "everyday-mini-vacation" it was until it disappeared.

Annoying problems
My internet has been down and who knew the havoc it would cause! I can't believe that I'm this dependent on something that I just started to use in college. Promise to update when all is fixed.

China adoption
This family, whose blog I love to read, is leaving tomorrow for China. They are going to adopt their second little girl from China. The story of their first adoption was priceless. Just wanted to share the fun news. Don't forget to pray that all goes well!

Ark update
This morning I was awoken by that stupid creature under my house. (my little house is up off the ground like a house on the beach would be. There is a crawl space under the entire floor.) He seemed to be eating away at the floor. Crunch, crunch, crunch....back and forth, back and forth. I got so angry that I JUMPED down, out of bed and stomped on the floor. I think it either quieted him down or scared him away. I was scared that he had eaten so much and I would go straight through the floor. Something must be done! What else do I have to do to keep him from getting in?!!!
Oh, and now a squirrel sits on a tree and looks at me through the window by my desk at work. Maybe I need to be Rex Harrison in the movie "Doctor Doolittle" and sing Talk to the Animals along with them.

Napoleon isn't the only one...
This past weekend I did a couple things that seem to peg me as a mega dork. Read and decide for yourself...
- Went bowling. (For some reason I always think of this as a really dorky thing to do. Yet, on the TV show Ed, it always seemed hip and fun.) Not only went bowling, but got really, really excited that I bowled 2 games in a row over 100. I'm horrible at bowling usually. Maybe it was the fact that I've always loved those bowling shoes....
- Got hooked on Battlestar Galactica. Yes, that's right. I am a sci-fi nerd. By the way, my brother has now officially become the source of my TV diet demise. He's got me wondering what in the world can Jack Bauer possibly do next. Not to mention horrified that the nice sweet pilot is a Cylon and will destroy Galactica. These are things that I promised myself I would think LESS about.
- Became really excited that my kitchen had stayed clean for an entire week. At times, I can be like Monica on Friends when it comes to obsessiveness about cleaning.
And those are just from this past weekend. Forget about being one of those people that gets cooler as they get older. I'm doomed....

Zach attack
Does anyone else laugh ridiculously loud while watching Zach Braff? I love Scrubs (yes, I know this picture is from Garden State, but, hello?!! Funny!). I can be guaranteed a laugh and a "I can't believe a show this funny can have the most amazing, dramatic, thoughtful moment at the same time" moment everytime I watch it.
So in my love of this actor, I found on the internet through Yahoo that he has his own blog. He started it when he was doing Garden State a couple years ago. He posts every once in a while (busy with a TV show, directing and acting in major motion pictures. Oh, and what did I do last night? right, sat on my couch and watched TV... #7 thing to do: work on motivation to accomplish something in the evening after work.) And he also posts music to try out (Garden State soundtrack was a big seller. GREAT mix of tunes). Check it out.
Here's a little bit from his last post.
"My dog has a cough. If you've never seen a dog with a cough, I recommend trying to find one. It's hilarious. I'm trying not to laugh in his face, but it's so cute/ridiculous to hear him cough that it makes me smile every time. He's on medicine. I think it's his allergies; he's allergic to more things than Millhouse and Paul from the "Wonder Years" combined. At last count I think he was allergic to air, water, lawn grass and food. He's a big nerd, but I love him."
